Focus on Ability film festival

Year 12 student, Michael Roberts enters a film for the FOCUS ON ABILITY film festival

Year 12 student, Michael Roberts made a film about his brother, Owen, (a previous student at Kew High school) and entered it into the Focus on Ability Film Festival 2023. The festival asks filmmakers to ‘Focus on an Ability’ of people with a disability and tell a story on film for the world to see. Films are judged by a professional judging panel and subject to an online voting process, with separate prizes for each category. Michael had little to no experience in making a film. But he decided to give it a go. He wanted to show his community and the world what Owen has been up to since leaving Kew High school. Michael has made a terrific little film. Congratulations Michael! It’s a wonderful effort and we wish you all the best for the competition. The films will be screened on September 5 at Melbourne Crown Towers. If you would like to watch the film please go to Focus on Ability.
