Established in 1963, Kew High School is a high-performing coeducational school located in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The school proudly provides an outstanding holistic education to students of the local community, with a current enrolment of approximately 1100 students.
At Kew High School, our vision is to provide an outstanding holistic education that supports and encourages every student to aspire, strive and achieve. Kew High School students and staff are confident, generous people who feel connected to the school and its community. Instructional practice at Kew High School is centred around students as active learners who are able to take responsibility for and direct their learning.
At Kew High School, we are committed to ensuring that students at all year levels have the opportunity to actively participate in meaningful leadership roles. Leadership positions are clearly defined and carry significant responsibility. Students are supported in their positions through training and development offered by senior students, internal staff and external providers. Various processes are taken into account when appointing student leaders: a written application, interview, speech to peers, student vote, staff vote, and student record.
Kew High School is one of the first schools in Victoria to offer an education program to international students. Our International Student Program is fully accredited and expertly coordinated by a team of experienced staff.
Skilled and experienced staff, together with student mentors, provide a range of academic and social supports that promote student engagement and wellbeing, allowing students to step into their new environment feeling confident and ready to learn.
We view the partnership with parents as critical, acknowledging that if parents are involved in the school community, then children’s outcomes are better.
We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people, who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our School stands. We would also like to pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging of the Kulin Nation and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Kew High School is accredited under the Department of Education’s CRICOS registration (CRICOS provider name and code: Department of Education, 00861K). For more information, see: www.study.vic.gov.au
