Performing Arts

The Performing Arts at Kew High School is integrated and engaging program across, Drama, Theatre Studies, Dance and Music, and continues to grow from strength to strength. Each of these disciplines is a recognised pathway of learning at Kew High School and we aim to provide a variety of performance opportunities throughout the school year that cater from beginners to advanced. Each of our programs is designed to build students’ abilities and confidence in ways that they would not have imagined possible while also having a positive impact on student wellbeing and leadership.

Performance opportunities include Junior One Act Play festivals, Senior Theatre Fest for Year 9 and 10 and The Malthouse Theatre Suitcase series. There are opportunities for students to build on their skills introduced in our Drama and Theatre Studies curriculum with many students choosing to be involved  in areas such as stage management, set design, costume, makeup, lighting and sound design.

The centrepiece of our program is a biennial school production involving students from every year level. This production is a highlight of the school calendar for students, staff and the wider community.

We love showcasing the amazing talent of all the students at Kew High School and look forward to bringing more exciting performance  opportunities to students in years to come.
