2020 VCE Results

23% of students achieved an ATAR over 90 placing in the top 10% in Victoria. 46% of our students placed in the top 20% of the state with an ATAR over 80. This is in a school which prides itself on our non-selective, inclusive enrolment policy. We're most proud of the achievements of all students!

Kew High School provides students with a broad holistic education. We celebrate our students’ achievement in a wide range of areas including the Performing and Visual Arts, Music, Sports, contributions to social equity in the community and integrity in striving for and reaching personal goals. As this year concludes we take this opportunity to celebrate the academic excellence of the Class of 2020. We know that in this year particularly, the personal commitment each student has made to reaching the high expectations they have set for themselves has been even more worthy of great celebration.

We congratulate the Dux of 2020, Luka Armstrong-Wallis who gained an outstanding ATAR of 99.30. Luka was an integral member of the school Volleyball, Soccer and Futsal teams throughout his time at Kew High School. He enjoyed particularly strong connections with his peers and acted as a mentor to many of the younger students.


Our Dux Secondi for 2020 was Otto Sargent with an ATAR of 99.20.  Mathematics (32) in 2020. Otto had also studied Legal Studies (48) in 2019. Otto was a key member of the Student Representative Council throughout his time at Kew High School and in 2020 was the Cotham House Captain.


Our highest achieving International student this year was Truc Nguyen (Sara) Le. Sara achieved an ATAR of 97.9. Kew High School is particularly proud of the achievements of our International student cohort. The median score for International students at Kew High School in 2020 was 87.38 with over 61% of students achieving an ATAR over 80.0, placing in the top 20% of students completing the Victorian Certificate of Education.

In 2020 the students of Kew High School have faced such significant challenge. They have responded with humour, with care, with creativity, and with a determination to make the reality that they have faced better; better for themselves and better for others. They have found ways to look after each other in absurd circumstances and it is of this that the school is most proud. Kew High School congratulates the graduating Class of 2020 and wishes them all the very best for their futures.
