On Monday 18 May the State Government announced an Education Infrastructure initiative. I am most excited to inform you that Kew High School will receive $9.76 million from the State Government to build a new 2 storey STEM Centre.
The centre will include:
- an enquiry and research centre
- studio spaces for Art, Science and Technology
- a new Canteen
- a tiered seating area for presentations
- multiple flexible learning spaces
These new spaces will lead to exciting innovations in learning and teaching at Kew High School. One of the things we have come to appreciate over the past six weeks is the importance of people connecting with each other in the space that they share as they learn. The new STEM Centre is designed around collaborative learning to support creative and critical thinking. We are in the best possible position to appreciate how fundamentally beneficial this new STEM Centre will be for the Kew High School community.
